Collini-Flühmann
Collini-Flühmann grew and changed, but their initial investment in Ericsson BusinessPhone 250 let them upgrade their communication system to meet new challenges.

Collini-Flühmann headquarters

Collini-Flühmann develops precious metal plating for the electrical, automotive and telecom industry. Several years ago, they invested in an Ericsson BusinessPhone 250 communication system. With expansion, however, Collini-Flühmann needed new ways to maintain safety standards and optimize communication - both internally and with clients. So they leveraged their initial investment by upgrading BusinessPhone to include messaging functionality.
The challenge
Collini-Flühmann makes a point of always being a step ahead of customer needs, both in terms of providing the very best metal plating and the very best service. That's why they recently looked into new ways of making their 130 employees even more accessible to clients and colleagues, and into new ways of improving overall safety on the job.
Collini-Flühmann already had an Ericsson BusinessPhone 250 communication system in place, with integrated cordless telephone functionality that allowed employees to roam through their offices and factory. So Gerry Järmann, the company's telecommunications manager, contacted Ericsson's partner, Wirz TKS Telekommunikations, to discuss what could be done to evolve the system - while protecting the company's initial investment.
The solution
Designed for small and medium-sized organizations, BusinessPhone's modular architecture makes it easy to add new features. And after listening carefully to Collini-Flühmann's needs, Wirz TKS suggested connecting a new messaging system to the existing BusinessPhone solution.
Using SMS-enabled cordless handsets, the extra-robust DT420, employees can send text messages and alarms at any time. Messages can be generated using a phone, PC, switch, button or supervision system, and could be sent to individuals or groups for fast alerts - and cost-effective communication.
The reward
Today, Collini-Flühmann's factory workers use the durable, plastic-encased DT420. They can adjust volume and ring signals, use the vibration mode to ensure they're reached - or push the red alarm button on the phone in case of emergency. Employees working in the offices use the DT368, the ideal communication device according to Gerry Järmann.
Thanks to Ericsson's cordless messaging solution upgrade, Järmann reports an enormous increase in both safety and efficiency. With faster response rates, Collini-Flühmann has leveraged the BusinessPhone system to successfully keep a step ahead of customers.
