A new endeavor for enterprise
The acquisition of Ericsson’s PBX business by Aastra Technologies came into effect on May 1. There’s a new look at the helm of this young and growing company, where the message is better business as usual.

Gustaf Carlsson,
President Aastra Telecom Sweden

Urban Gillström, former head of Ericsson Enterprise, says the acquisition was a “natural step” in times of industry consolidation. He leaves after three years in the role and is confident that Aastra will continue to drive the success that has been achieved during that time.

“We have improved financially, we have improved the product portfolio and we have been driving our leadership in mobility,” he says. “If you go back three years, we didn’t have the IP story in place. We have that now with MX-ONE and it’s really going well.”

“But there is still a lot to accomplish,” Gillström adds. “It’s about driving enterprise efficiency to bring strong solutions to our customers.”

Gillström hands over the reins to Gustav Carlsson president of the new company, Aastra Telecom Sweden.

Carlsson highlights IP, connections with business processes and mobility as the key enterprise trends Carlsson today. He also points to quality and sales as key focus areas in his new position.”

“I would like to see us working together with partners in order to serve our customers in the best way,” he adds. “Continue to trust us with your business, because we are 100 percent focused on making your business successful.”

According to Tony Shen, co-CEO of Aastra Technologies, the company’s ambition is to redefine the enterprise communications business and market in a more modern way.

“We hope to contribute more in terms of innovative products and solutions and be able to get these things out onto the market on time,” he says. “With our scale and scope I think we will be one of the leading players in the enterprise communications market.”
